What happens next ?
Well we want you all to be safe and well : we want to avoid, beat and get a grip of this covid 19 and help each other through to the aftermath. Our ‘region’ will become ever more important to us and ever more interesting. Perhaps we can build a following quite before any return to normality is attempted. Perhaps this website might become a regional refuge where we can explore the things around us from our self-isolated turrets (mine is 10′ x 8′ ) .Explorers of our own territory; maybe coming across things for the first time. I have just moved to Fordingbridge after living nearby for 40 years and I have found delights I never knew existed. I want to start writing about the SEVEN WONDERS OF FORDINGBRIDGE. Then we can begin to build Seven Wonders of everywhere so that nothing gets missed. Each area knows it’s best bits but does everyone else know them ? Just to start it off……… I love the St. Mary’s Church : the oak trees in Marl Lane : the Old Market Place with the lights on in the evening : the 7 arch bridge over the River Avon : the walk through the meadows to Britford : the two disused railway arches on the old railway line : the view up the high street with your back against the old Lloyds Bank building…………..
Then we could build on the main ‘A’ roads aiming for Salisbury, connecting up gorgeous places. Extraordinarily pretty road trips up the Chalk Valley from Nunton to Alvediston or from Cranborne to Wimborne………where is Cranborne I hear you say. When did you last motor to Devizes ? This might be old hat to some but very much new – hat to most. I know; I have lived in the region since birth and only now am I up for exploration. Let’s see what happens. We are connected to facebook and to twitter. After this is over we need to know where everything is and what it is up to…………the pubs.cafes ,restaurants, cinemas ,live performers, jugglers and artists will need us to come back. I find it very interesting. DO YOU ?
